MUNICH ? U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is warning Egypt again that the failure to resolve a bitter dispute over the status of non-governmental pro-democracy groups may lead to the loss of American aid to the country.
Clinton met Egypt's foreign minister on the sidelines of an international security conference in Munich on Saturday and repeated that message, which had already been transmitted to officials in Cairo. The U.S. is due to give Egypt $1.3 billion in military assistance and $250 million in economic aid in 2012.
U.S.-Egyptian tensions have been high since raids on the organizations last month and rose further after Egypt refused to allow some American workers to leave the country. Three of them are now holed up in the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. Clinton said
