The bank holding company aims to have a location at 70 W. Madison St., the Chicago Tribune reported, citing an application with state regulators.
Lake Forest-based Wintrust has commercial lending offices downtown. "We can't be Chicago's bank if we're not in the Loop and all the neighborhoods of the city and the 'burbs," CEO Edward J. Wehmer told the Tribune.
