Libya government wants to integrate ex-fighters

PARIS (AP) ? Libya's government is hoping to integrate former fighters into fledgling security forces but the country is struggling to control its borders and the arms and explosives that were looted after longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi's downfall.

That's the conclusion of an international meeting on Libyan security in Paris.

Governments that backed the 2011 revolution offered words of caution two years later.

They called on Libya to improve policing of its border. And they said that the Libyan government has to track down vast stocks of weapons that vanished in two years of chaos.

Islamic militants who seized control of a gas installation in Algeria last month are believed to have crossed from neighboring Libya.
